I think the rule at SNC was/is the animal has to be able to stay underwater for like 60 seconds or something... but I also heard that someone held their cat underwater for a minute and so that rule possibly was changed that may just be a story though

This is my first year going to 10klf. I am from St Paul, MN. I actually won 2 VIP Packages through one of the local TV stations. I am so stoked! I don't know if this is the correct forum to post these questions, but since I am here I will. So, anyone can visit anyone in any campground including VIP...they just can't camp in VIP. I asked the promoter I am working with and he told me that you had to have VIP to camp in VIP. Do they check,do you know? Also, someone mentioned something about a grassy area for VIP'rs in the concert bowl..is that close to the stage? One last question, how many people do you think buy VIP? I am so excited and even though my main reason for going is to see DMB, I am looking forward to WSP and Wilco and others....and of course a weekend of nice weather and camping and hanging out.

Congrats on winning those tickets, that's sweet!! You would actually ask these questions in the camping area but that's alright. If you look in those threads you'll find a lot of answers to other questions you may have. 1. I asked the head of the street team awhile ago about going to other campgrounds and the VIP one... he said that you are allowed in any campground as long as you have the music and camping bracelet on. On the 10klf website it says you cannot go into the VIP campground unless you're in VIP and a couple people told me that last year they had someone checking if you were VIP or not to get in. Those people did tell me however, that you can go into any regular campground. So I guess we'll say you can go anywhere but just be aware that they may only allow VIP campers into that specific campground like that promoter told you. 2. The grassy VIP area is stupid in my opinion. Not a lot of people sit in there. In front of the stage is all concrete and then there is a ledge and then grass then further back is VIP, fenced off with that orange plastic fence stuff.. Look at this map: www.10klf.com/map.php3. I'm not sure how many people buy VIP. Northwoods and Lake Sallie are the campgrounds that sell out if that tells you anything.

I am so excited and even though my main reason for going is to see DMB, I am looking forward to WSP and Wilco and others....and of course a weekend of nice weather and camping and hanging out. This is my first 10KLF, but from my limited experience 1) VIP is a little more laid back and the majority of people are a little older. There is less worry about theft but that just happens every where. 2) Proximity. All camping at 10K is close, so I don't feel this is a real perk in this case. 3) Food. We are traveling from far away and to not have to worry about bringing food is a huge plus. We can buy dinner on Wed. and we are leaving early on Sunday. We will bring some food, but not enough to justify taking half of the fridge for 5 days of camping. 4) I guess the ranch has "real" bathrooms and hot showers in all camping areas, so again, I don't feel this is a perk here. Unless no one could afford VIP and the lines are shorter! 5) Hopefully less of a line at check in and to enter the bowl. Was hoping for less of a search too. My camel back is my friend. 6) Viewing areas. Again, don't think it's a huge perk at 10K but the option is there if you want it. Didn't use it last year at Roo, it was unimpressive. I found it to be no big deal , unless the rope off is in the front pit, which it isn't. 7) Cool tent to hang in, and free chair! Again, never been to 10K but we opted for VIP from past experience . This is my summer vacation and I want to enjoy it. A happy camp makes a happy festival goer!!

I know of a bunch in their 30s/40s from St. Paul/Mpls camping there, hehe! I would have done VIP cause of the food thing too but I don't have the $ for that. If you really don't want your stuff stolen... lock your stuff in your car/put a lock on your tent. But I don't know of anyone who has had their stuff stolen at 10k so you don't have to be too worried, just careful.

Haha, I changed the board censors so there aren't any.. but last night bitches would have turned into pregnant dogs! Just thought that was kinda funny... they had some crazy things listed in it.
I liked staying at my cabin last year because I could drink good beer in glass bottles, even though everyone drank all my beer. And we burnt a staircase and a shed in the bonfire... hahaha!
I can't wait to camp in Sallie though!

Hi everyone! My name's Lindsey, this will be my first 10klf and I'm very excited! I've attended other festivals in the past so I have a little experience but any tips on 10klf inparticular would be awesome. I'll be camping in Northwoods, and I'm attending with my best friend so it should be a fun girl's weekend!

It's so close but so far away! I'm Jon from Cloud, this will be my second 10klf, first year not working there. I was on the stage crew in 07, it was really fun but this time I don't wanna be responsible...very much. Lake Sallie is really laid back most of the time, and after the first day you don't mind walking so much. There's sweet golf cart limos. Yeah that's right, be sure to ride one at least once. OO! And keep your valuable things (including lawn chairs) locked in a vehicle. I'm so stoked for Dave and Wookiefoot that I might crap myself! I wouldn't, that's shitty. haha!
