I can't wait to check out Cloud Cult, I'll admit though.. I had to laugh when I saw they're at 10k just cause of the e-surance commercial!

I was shocked when I saw those commercials because they aren't even signed to a record label they do everything themselves. I figured the last thing they would do is put an ad on television. But I think they fit into the festival because they are an environmentally aware band and with the We B Green program they kind of add more to that aspect of 10k

That's cool, I didn't know they weren't signed! I give bands a lot of credit when they do everything themselves. Hah, I actually know nothing about them to tell you the truth! I agree that they fit in well.. definately a smart addition to the lineup!

By the end of March for sure. I'd say maybe a week or two.
I bet they'll come out with additions right after or the same time Rothbury announces their lineup, haha.

DMB is a solid headline act. There are going to be the lame DMB fans, but from my experience I would say everyone will be out to have a good time, even if Saturday night gets a little crazy...It will not compare to some fans who go to shows at WE fest a few weeks later who will be far more loud and stupid than the fans at 10klf. Its gonna be a great week in July!!!

I was reading over some of these posts and I thought I should mention something. I saw DMB at rothbury last year, I have always been a so-so fan, because they were by far the most popular band in my highschool growing up. I have always preferred Wilco and WSP, been listening to both since about 1994 or shortly after, whenever Tweedy left Tupelo. Most fans that like jamband music dont like DMB because they are popular and dont jam out as much. They used to open for WSP and the Grateful Dead, and I think a lot of Jamband fans saw that DMB used to be a jamband, and then sold-out in a way. I enjoyed seeing them at Rothbury and I dont mind their fans or music, but I understand why a fan is upset that DMB and Wilco are playing at a Jamband music festival. I know John Mayer, 311, the Roots and many others have played 10klf, so it is not strictly jamband, but I think that is why people are negative. But you cant win them all, and WSP is the king band of jamband, more so than phish in my opinion... 10klf is trying to find a new niche, trying to keep the jamband crowd happy while getting into the more main stream rock crowd as well... at least its not like roo yet with metallica or anything... but I thought I would mention that... To any jamband fan, or anyone who hasnt heard Wilco yet, they are the best band I have ever scene live. Better than DMB, WSP, Flaming Lips, Gomez, Modest Mouse, 311, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Umphreys, sts9 and almost any other band you can name. Jeff Tweedy sends chills up my spine when he sings!!!! I am really looking forward to it!!!!

I'm a converted Dave fan, I saw them at Alpine with my best friend a couple years ago and totally loved it! They put on a really great show - the energy is amazing.. one of the few shows that gives me that "rush". I try to see them at least once a year now. I'm so happy that they'll be at 10k this year! After Rothbury last year, I somehow knew we'd be next. I think that the fans like us are going to be able to get closer to the front and that'll be great. At this festival - everyone saves your spot, people don't spill on your stuff or puke on it, and there isn't litter everywhere. It makes the experience really cool! IMO a lot of the fans people are complaining about won't be there simply because they'll be sticking to Alpine and Deer Creek and whatnot... they won't want to go to a festival with a lot of bands they don't know. Haha, but who knows! It'll be awesome either way! I have never listened to Wilco. I think I saw them on a late night show a long time ago and didn't like it so I never tried to find any of their music. I'm excited to see them and give them another chance though!!

Yeah, I know right! I have high hopes for the next round of additions though. I really think they might announce a few more bigger name bands after Rothbury announces their lineup... haha, I hope!

i first saw it on his website, but it is now gone. I still found it on places like coast to coast tickets.com just do a george clinton tour search and go to places that are his official site. The first place i saw it was on his official page though. lil panic with a lil pfunk never hurt anyone. Anyone doing rothbury as well

He played 10k last year so I'm pretty sure you were seeing the 2008 dates... I looked on every site for his tour and it wasn't on any of them. He's not listed to be playing any dates in July yet.
I wish I was going to Rothbury but I don't have the money.

Carney is on the lineup news on the site and Evan Watson in added on the lineup in the e-mail... neither of them are listed on the full lineup. Haha, I think they need to get their lineup straight...
