Mobile Phone Recycling Drive
DID YOU KNOW?
Cell phones contain toxic substances such as lead, nickel and zinc that enter the ecosystem when phones are taken to landfills or incinerated.
There are over one billion out of use cell phones in the US alone. That's more than 3 out of use phones for every person in the US!
Less than 10% of cell phones are recycled properly. The rest enter landfills or incinerators, among other environmentally unsound destination.
Average life span of mobile phone - just 13 months!
In partnership with Rock The Earth, Musictoday and Collective Good, Bonnaroo (and other fests) are calling on their friends to bring their old, unwanted mobile phones to the Rock the Earth booth for redemption.
[glow=orange,2,300]Each person bringing a phone will receive 20% Off future Musictoday purchases, AND each phone is worth one entry into the on-site sweepstakes drawing for cool prizes like DVDs, CDs, t-shirts, magazine subscriptions, merchandise, signed memorabilia, Festival 2010 passes, and many other great items. [/glow]
If you're going to Bonnaroo, bring your old cell phones to Rock the Earth's booth, located in Planet Roo.
What are you waiting for?! Start collecting phones today from all your friends and family, at work, school and from around your community. The more phones you bring to Bonnaroo (or another fest) for recycling the greater your chances are of winning! If you are not attending this festival but still want to enjoy the discount and a chance at additional great prizes, you can submit via the URL at the bottom.
