So I bought my lake sallie camping reservations a while ago and my buddy went to buy his tickets a week or so ago and the lake sallie campgrounds was sold out. Now I'm a little pissed cause I told him in advance that it was gonna sell out so he totally screwed up but that's besides the point. I was wondering it it was possible to trade my campground spot for a different one, or if any of you guys had some advice on how we can get two campsites next to each other.
Neither of us have gone before and it would be prime to camp next to each other especially cause he's got a truck and would be hauling the camping stuff and I'm bringing some more of our friends so we kind of need two spots. I guess we could do one spot depending on how big the spots are and how many tents/people it can fit. I think we would still want to take two cars so the single campground would only work if we can just park one of the cars somewhere else? Any advice is appreciated because at this point I'm thinking if we have to camp separate it's gonna be kind of lame =(

As long as everyone has music + camping tickets, you guys are good to go. Just have your friend either park in a different campground and drop off the tents and stuff at Lake Sallie or pay $30 for 4-day parking! OR find someone online selling their Lake Sallie reservation, I have seen a lot for sale. Just tell your neighbors at your campsite that you need room for an extra tent, there's plenty of room so no need to worry. We are probably going to do the same thing!

Hey so we got this all figured out. Traded my Lake Sallie spot to someone with a Northwoods spot, my buddy and his girlfriend are coming now too and they found tix and a Northwoods reservation off Craigslist for a really good price...So looks like we'll be in the NOrthwoods instead...Not sure if I'm digging that, my girlfriend basically spent all of yesterday emailing/calling people who were selling their 10k tickets on craigslist and it was her idea to switch to Northwoods...I'm thinking it should be sweet, maybe kind of an upgrade depending on how you look at it...I just hope we don't regret it once we're there haha.

Where have you been seeing these campground reservations for sale? We still have not got ours yet and need one. We are getting there on Friday, unfortunately, so what would be the easiest campground to try to get? Also can you buy campground reservations at the gate? We already have our passes but no camping yet. Do they sell out of camping completely?

On the 10klf site only Blue Ox and Viking campgrounds still have vehicle passes available ($50). Craigslist Minneapolis tickets section has some passes for Northwoods and Lake Sallie but they are now usually more than $50 or only sold as part of a ticket package by the seller(s).
what we have done before for friends who got shutout of Sallie or Northwoods is just get a vehicle pass for whatever campground you can get and take the Festaxi (their number used to be 612 940-8294 and I don't know if it has changed) or walk with your gear to wherever you want to camp. Lake Sallie is huge and spread out with plenty of room and you don't have to have a pass to camp there, it's only necessary for a vehicle.
Blue Ox and Viking camps don't usually sell out but they have no shade either.
I am pretty sure the "Day parking" doesn't allow you to leave your car there overnight or indefinitely. They have 4-day parking passes for $30 but the website says : "Vehicles must be removed from the parking lots within one hour of the final concert each night. There is no camping in the Day Parking lot."

You can buy them at the gate, but only for Blue Ox or Viking like kc said cause they never sell out. Haha, I forgot all about the not leaving your car in the parking lot overnight! There are 3 Lake Sallie passes to bid on at ebay right now.
