What are you bringing/what are your favorites?
I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of beer in cans and booze in plastic for everyone. I'll start the list and you guys can add to it.
Beer
Labatt's PBR Leinenkugel's Bell's Two Hearted Bell's Oberon Foster's Coor's
Booze
UV Vodka Kessler's Captain Box wine

Nothing like a Grain Belt Premium Beer!
Make sure to bring a coozie (or beer coolie if you will) to keep those cans cool in the hot sun!

So...here's my dilemma. I don't care for beer (no throwing stones!) or boxed wine. I know Mike's comes in plastic bottles...but do I have any other options, for hard liquor?
If it comes right down to it, would it be so bad to transfer some of my favorite alcohols to some clean plastic bottles right before the festival? Is it going to ruin the alcohol? Leech chemicals from the plastic? Or would it work?

I love to bring boxed wine and lots of fruit so I can have home made sangria! I'm not a huge beer fan either...but I found that if you mix a little bit of those crystal light packets (lemonade or raspberry are the best) in with the beer it's kind of like a mike's or a berryweis! As far as booze go...how difficult is it getting it into the stage area...i don't want to pay for booze the entire time I'm in there. I know the old vodka/water bottle trick....do they check for that?

I don't like wine at all. Haha! I want to try one of your sangrias though peacenlove.. those sound like they could be really yummy.
I think you'll be fine putting your alcohol in plastic bottles for 4 days QuietDelusions.. that's what a lot of people do. There's a lot of cheaper liquor that comes in plastic bottles too.
As for getting in to the concert bowl.. they check all your stuff every time you go in. I had an opened plastic water bottle every time last year and they never said anything to me even though they are supposed to be sealed. It all depends on who is checking your stuff.

Yes you should, it tastes more like juice... they are delish...plus fruit is good for you..bonus! haha
Well at other fests I usually fill a water bottle up to the top with vodka and make it look like it's still sealed...mixed in with other regular water bottles in the bag it looks normal i have never gotten caught before and I suppose the worst that could happen is that they'd make you pour it out. It's totally worth sneaking it in though so you can mix it with yummy vendor smoothies!

Vendor smoothies, eh? I'll need to see if I can smuggle in a bottle of white rum (or, even better, passion fruit rum). That sounds like a marvelous combo!

I always bring in my own juice with my "water bottle" but I may have to splurge on a smoothie.

I have an odd question. Remember...I've never been to MN or that part of the country, so try not to laugh too hard at me. So - do the liquer stores sell Mexican beers there? Tecate...Dos Equis - in cans? Being from Southern California I'm kinda partial to Mexican Beers.

Yes, even up here we have all the Mexican beers (Dos Equis, Corona, Tecate, etc...). However, you are going to need to stop in a bigger town to get them. Detroit Lakes should be OK.

Awesome! Thanks...I know, it was a weird question. But I just had to know. I didn't want to be stuck drinking wine - ick! Unless it's that sangria peacenlove was describing. I think it sounds like juice. lol
