$10 per vehicle day parking - you pay at the gate
You need a vehicle reservation ticket for every car that will be in the campground. To get tickets: www.10klftickets.com
Do they have day passes/day parking? Yes. See above.
Is there a promo/discount code I can use?! You bet, $10 off GA and $20 off VIP! $5 off single-day Saturday tickets as well! The code is: 202601.
What campgrounds can we choose from? VIP, Northwoods, Lake Sallie, Blue Ox & Viking. The most popular are VIP, Northwoods & Lake Sallie.. they sell out fast! Go here for campground info on the official site: www.10klf.com/camping.php OR here on the forum: www.10klakesfestival.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=camping&thread=36&page=1
What are the bathrooms like and are there showers - do they cost anything? There are 4 permenant bathrooms in the concert bowl and showers in every campground. Porti-potties too! The bathrooms have staff to keep them clean! They have really yummy soap for your hands and mirrors of course! Showers are warm and free! You can also just use baby wipes or bring a portable shower if you want or jump in the lake (PLEASE do not use soap in the lake, it is horrible for the wildlife!). There are plenty of options for everyone to keep clean here!
What is the water situation? There are free fresh water stations in the concert bowl, and they have big misters to walk under and cool down. You can only bring in water bottles to the concert bowl. Camelbacks have to be empty when coming in. You can keep as much water as you want at your campsite.
What about the food situation?? If you're in VIP, you get 6 fresh catered meals and beverages. From what I hear they are pretty good! Otherwise there's pizza (it was Papa John's last year), gyros, buffalo shrimp, steak bites, meat sundaes, food for vegitarians and tons of other stuff. They also have ice cream, soda and coffee drinks! Prices are pretty good from $2 and up. Most of the good food costs around $6-8. You can certainly just bring your own food as well and cook it at your campsite!
How about alcohol? You will get a bracelet that shows whether you are 21 or not when you first enter the concert bowl. NO glass bottles allowed! Use your best judgement. You can put your liquor in plastic bottles or buy it like that, you know. As far as I know, there is no limit on the amount of beer you can bring. No kegs though. You cannot bring your alcohol in the concert bowl. Beer was going for $5 last year and they had a very nice selection as well as varied liquor drinks (like vodka and cranberry juice). You get a 16oz We B Green mug with a top so you don't spill!!
About how much money do you think I should bring? It all depends! You have to figure out your expenses: how much will you spend on food & beer in the concert bowl for 4 days, if you need to get any supplies like ice (ice was around $4 last year) and whatnot while you're there, if you're going to buy t-shirts and stuff from vendors.. I'll probably be taking around $250 with me. Don't forget to keep enough money so you can pay for gas/food on the way back home!!! They do have ATMs there.
What should I bring? Go here for a running list of things: www.10klakesfestival.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=camping&action=display&thread=14
What if I need supplies? There is a general store at every campsite to get most things you would need like ice, cigs, live cds from the festival, and whatnot.
How is the weather there and what kind of clothing should I bring? It gets hot during the day (around 70 all the way to 100 degrees) and cold at night. When it does rain/storm, it usually passes quickly. I'd say bring enough socks, a pair of shoes and a pair of sandals, a rain poncho or something, a pair of pants, plenty of underwear, a swimsuit & towel, a couple t-shirts or tanks, a couple skirts or shorts, a hoodie/sweater and maybe sweatpants for at night. You'll want to pack light to save room so only bring what you really need.. but don't forget the hoodie & blankets for at night.
Are there bugs? Yeah, but most people don't seem to have a problem with them. Just pack bug spray in case you need it!
How far is the walk from the campsites to the concert bowl? Really short. You don't even have to cross the road because there are tunnels under it!
Is there a map/layout of Soo Pass Ranch for me to look at? Yes, go here: www.10klftickets.com/10KLF_2009_Seating_Map.pdf and www.10klftickets.com/10KLF_2009_Parking_Map.pdf
When should I arrive? All the campgrounds open at 10am on the 22nd. They say you will be turned away if you arrive early.. but the earlier you get there - the better your campsite.
Do they search your car when you get there? Yep, its brief but everyone's car will get searched. They are mainly looking for glass bottles and whatnot.
What is provided at the campgrounds? There will be bathrooms (mainly porto-johns), hand wash stations, potable water, real showers and 24-hour security/medical. Ice will be available at several locations throughout the campgrounds and from a roving truck. A water and pumper truck for RV services will be available during daylight hours for a small fee. For more campground info, go to this thread: www.10klakesfestival.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=camping&thread=36&page=1
These are only a few of the many questions I'm sure people will have. Feel free to keep asking and this list will be updated. What to bring and campground questions are in a different area. The official 10KLF site does an excellent job of providing most of the information you are probably looking for, so you should check here before asking additional questions: www.10klf.com/faqs.php.
