I think for us, as people who have never been to a festival of this size, it was actually the pictures from past years that convinced us!! We started looking at festivals online and kept coming back to 10klf... it's just more "us" if that makes any sense. Plus, DMB is our fav. band so we had already pretty much determined that we were going to a festival that they were headlining! lol

I wanted to wait for the Rothbury line-up also... was sold on WSP X2 and the pictures from last year helped! Looks like a beautiful place to camp. Also the price was a perk. Great deal for the $$.

I've always wanted to go ever since it started because I'm always in Detroit Lakes in July at my sister's cabin, but I never had enough money for it. In '07, I couldn't get off work - when I asked off MONTHS in advance!!!! I finally got to go last year. I will never miss it again, hehe.

Mine was a random "I need something fun to do this summer, what should I do?" moment. *laugh* Saw the line-up, saw great music, and got very excited. I'll admit, DMB and Wilco suckered me in, and when I saw Cloud Cult there too, I started doing a small happy dance in my chair. (I was working, couldn't do a full-fledged happy dance.)
So, yup, I needed summer excitement!

^ I wish I had the money to go to more than one festival.. that'd be the life! But I only get 1 show and 1 fest a summer if I'm lucky, haha. Maybe one day when I'm not in so much debt and can get the time off from work! I think as soon as 10k is over this summer I'm going to start saving up so I can do more next year.

Sadly, I never knew about 10klf until about 2 months ago. I got invited to Rothbury, so through reading online I found out about a festival in Detroit Lakes, MN. Being from MN, I was all over that. A few days later, I bought a ticket and a reservation for Northwoods. I've been to various concerts, but never a four day camping/music festival. Between 10klf and Roth...it's gonna be a goooood summer. ;D

I have always wanted to go to a festival with camping like this, and have known of 10k for a year or so. My friends went last year and are going back this year, so I decided to give it a go, and can't be more excited for July. Sounds like it will def. be the highlight of the summer.

I think what keeps me coming back is: the lakes (I'm not swimming this year but I might chill on a raft, last year I swam in Leaf Lake about 10min away at my cabin and got swimmers itch SO bad! - no one got anything in Sallie though), the trees - you can't beat the shady camping, clean bathrooms and showers, and the amount of people/how great the vibe is. Oh and the price, its pretty cheap! Minnesota is my favorite place to be in the summer. I can't wait til everyone who hasn't been there falls in love with it. Hopefully the people who are going with their main reason to see Dave, want to come back next year.

My first year at 10K (2nd year of the festival) I saw Trampled By Turtles on the Saloon stage and I said when they play the main stage I would be there. I'm also sort of on an every other year plan. I'm a teacher so I've got 3 months I don't know what to do with, so I decided to go to Rothbury, 10K and (the best fest of the summer) Logjam!
I hope my brain doesn't turn too mushy
Can't wait, johnny
