Thank you for starting this board! I am a first time 10KLFer and of course have a few questions!
How is VIP camping? I gotta say after the beating hot sun at Roo, those trees look mighty inviting!
Are they as anal about checking bags at VIP entrances? Can we get full camelbacks in etc?
How is the food package?
Plenty more questions I'm sure but was so happy to find this new board I wanted to jump right in!
We would like to be prepared as possible and can't wait for July!

Not sure how camping is in VIP, since I've never had the money to do it, haha! I'm sure its great. That's an awesome thing about 10k, all the trees in the campsites (except blue ox/viking) and the big lake!! They will for sure check your bag at every entrance. They go through bags/purses and usually check pockets too. Sometimes, if you get a nice person that finds something "questionable" in your pocket or bag.. they will let you through with it. That happened to my bf last year. Your camelbacks have to be empty, but there are free fresh water and misting areas (you will LOVE that mist!!) in the concert bowl. I heard the food is really good, all fresh with fruit and stuff. YUM! But once again, I don't know much about it since I've never gone VIP.

I have said before that I plan on getting there between 5 and 7am... still not sure but sometime around there. I think VIP is all pretty much the same too.. there's a little bit of open area and a bunch of trees. Jimmy Jam - pm sent!

First time to 10klf as well. Might just be a friend and I, but I am looking forward to the lake. Went to wakarusa last year and it was great to be able to swim, which sort of acted as my daily shower.

I checked out Bonnaroo last year and heard about 10K from many people there. They kind of referred to 10K as the "more chill" festival. So far it sounds pretty sweet to me!

A question....does anyone bring canoes? I would love to paddle in that beautiful lake. :-)

I've seen pictures of people in kayaks so I don't see anything wrong with a canoe, as long as you want to carry it all the way to the lake! I would just e-mail info@10klf.com and ask them to be sure its ok.
