So where will everyone be at this year?I'll be in Lake Sallie!! Be sure to look at the Forum Meet Up threads in On The Road for other members staying in your campground that you can meet up with! Feel free to have your name added to a list.

We were wondering about the VIP camping. Any info would be appreciated! I would like a flat tree shaded area...too much to ask?

VIP has wooded and open-field areas and its located right behind the main stage, I don't think you will have a hard time finding a good, flat spot. They have free 24hr permanent bathrooms and showers (all campsites do & they're kept very clean), and also a VIP bar/chill lounge area. You get a camp chair and 6 catered meals & drink tickets too! I heard the meals were really good. You also get a special spot to sit on the grass by the main stage and you can go in the skybox thing (which is two levels and has chairs you can move around).. but really anyone can go up there because no one watches it (at least they weren't last year and I spent most my time by the main stage there). Here is the ticket info: www.10klftickets.com/?area=departments&_event=showDepartments&page=1. I would suggest to arrive early to get the best spot!

We are just getting our $$$ together to buy our tickets - we just need to decide what campground we want - we can't decide between Northwoods and Lake Sallie. What are the pros/cons of each?
Also, silly question but how much room exactly does a site that you can park your car at have? I'm just wondering for tent size - we have a really small tent (2 man) and a larger tent (8 man) and I'm really hoping we can fit the bigger tent because as much as I love my hubby, I'm not feeling the "cosy-ness" of a 2 man tent! lol

Im not 100% sure an the actual size of the spots but it will be plenty big for your car and the big tent unless you drive an 18 wheeler or a tank.. theres room for big campers and the trucks pulling them so you should be fine. I know people that get together in line so they get spots next to one another and they have one spot for like cars and stuff and other for tents and fire ring ect. Just an idea that ive seen some people do.

Are the camping spots reserved? Or is it find a spot and stake out your claim?

When you buy your Campground Vehicle Reservation ticket it guarantee's that there will be a spot for you at the campground that u choose but it doesnt guarantee you a reserved spot. 1st come 1st server type of thing, Ill be in line on the side of the road at 6am wed morning maybe earlier so i get a good spot down by the lake at Sallie...(hopefully)

There is alot of hotels in DL (Detroit Lakes) so depends on what you want there is some nice ones down by the lake or there is a super 8 right up the road from the Soo Pass where 10k is held. All depends on what you want to spend. You will have a blast at the beach in DL

If you're getting a hotel room or anyone is for that matter around the time of 10k, I would book it ASAP. I looked like 2 months ago and most hotels out there were booked up already.

OK, booked the Best Western on 10 East, pretty reasonable. It's about 9 miles away. King suite w/ fridge and microwave $234 (AAA) for 2 nights w/ taxes. It has a 24 hour prior CX policy which is always good! A great buy when a good breakfast is included. I keep thinking of Donkey in Shrek "And in the Morning, we're having WAFFLES!" Which I will surely have at the Waffle bar

I got my pass for Sallie (woohoo!!!!) and we were just going to tent it but a friend of my parents is selling his pop-up tent trailer so I am crossing my fingers that he will sell it to us! That would be so sweet! OHH and I talked to a friend of my sisters today who has a metal shop and he's going to make us a campfire ring since we don't have one... I know it's still months away but I feel totally awesome that everything is coming together!! Now I just have to remind hubby to go get his passport renewed since the new can-us boarder rules come into effect in June!

OH! Good idea - I need to have my dad make me a fire ring as well!! No need to buy one when you have people handy with metal around. That'll be sweet if you guys get the pop-up!!
