I just got a camping/music package for my birthday, with a spot in Northwoods. I know I sound like a Grandpa, but I was wondering how crazy the "party" situation is there. I'm all about having a good time, but I also like to sleep Just wondering if anyone has any insight

I have never stayed in Northwoods but I'm sure you'll be able to get some sleep.. Bring ear plugs or something just in case and you'll be fine. You don't sound like a grandpa, haha. I want to be getting to sleep by 3am I think, so I can wake up by 8 or 9 and not feel like shit! Sweet birthday present!!

I will be staying in Northwoods, a friend I'm going with stayed their last year and said it was a blast. I like the shade the area gets from the pics, but looks like it might get a little crowded on space, but can't be nearly as bad as any of the other festivals around. I cannot wait to be one with nature out there haha nothing beats camping and some great music, with others who love it just as much.

I've never seen what these sites are like and that makes it kind of hard to judge where to buy my pass. Are these sites marked (like state park sites) or is it park and pitch? It seems like Lake Sallie is the place to be so ill probably be there. Also I saw "fire-ring" in the packing thread, are there not fire-pits already in place? And the last thing I was wondering is if there are picnic tables at each site?

If you look at the maps thread you can get a view of the campgrounds. For the camp sites you get in line early if you want the best pick of spots and then you drive to where you want your spot and set up your tent next to it. Lake Sallie or Northwoods are great. Lake Sallie has bands playing on a stage by the lake every day and is more laid back and Northwoods is the place with the crazy parties. If you want to have a fire there, you need a fire ring.. there are no fire pits. There are no picnic tables in the campgrounds either. They do, however, have free hot showers and permenant bathrooms!

I normally don't spend much time at the tent anyway...I just did the google maps thing on the 10klf website and it's about 9 hours for us! whew....that may hurt on the way back

I know of someone who just did that a few days ago so they might let you. I'm probably taking a rest stop at my sister's house in Minneapolis on the way there and back (I'll be coming from Green Bay) so if you guys need to relax for a bit at all, you probably could.

Definitely call....or email. I switched from Northwoods to Sallie by email - I figured something just slightly lower key would be good for my first time there.

ooooh awesome ok I just told my friend and she is going to call tomorrow morning to try and switch us to Lake Sallie. It totally sounds like it would be better for us! I'm pretty familiar with the party/camping scene at fests...but this will be her first one and I don't want to freak her out! So thank you so much for the tip!!

Aw, I can't wait to hang with all you girls in Sallie.. none of my girl friends will come with me! I don't know if any of you are fans of yoga but I think they should have it in the morning by the lake in Sallie.. that'd be so cool. They do yoga at Rothbury! I know there's a lot of activities and stuff by the stage and general store so it could be a possibility.
